Vivienne Beisel, B.A., LL.B., LL.M.

Vivienne received her law degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1997 and recently wrote her Master’s Thesis on the duty to consult with First Nations regarding water resources. She has assisted First Nations and corporations to resolve various disputes and has developed strong expertise in negotiation and mediation. Some of the disputes she has tackled involve: governance issues, corporate contracts and Aboriginal consultation. Vivienne’s approach to resolving disputes is to facilitate communication between the parties, gather and organise the information, assess the situation, set a creative and realistic plan that meets the goals of both parties, and then implement the plan. In addition to practicing law, Vivienne has 14 years of experience in teaching Native Studies, Aboriginal law, and cross-cultural communication and Universities in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
